Our Story
Rustik Atölye was founded in 2020 in a two-floor workshop in Istanbul.

We didn't come from carpentry. We started by looking again at the home objects everyone had stopped noticing, and turning them into pieces with character rather than mere utility.
More than thirty of the designs in our shop have no exact counterpart in Turkey or anywhere else. Replicas appeared; most copy the look, not the material or the durability.
One idea, one craftsman
My co-founder is also my uncle. He is the maker. Our first sale looked nothing like what we build today: a globe-shaped shelf, sold straight from our own site to a single customer.
Spruce, fire and brass
Solid spruce is our primary material. Some pieces are hand-charred, though not by textbook Shou Sugi Ban. We interpret the technique our own way. Every surface that touches alcohol is brass.
From Istanbul to Barbuda
There are four of us; a piece takes three working days. An American customer ordered one of these from India. Another travelled to Barbuda, in the Caribbean.
