Product description
A pair of scales searching for balance, with arms that open to both sides. The body spreads symmetrically, each arm ending in a square wooden plate, with the bulb hanging straight down in the middle: two pans and the light between them.
Scorched wood surface
The surface of the plates is darkened by scorching; the grain comes forward as it burns and leaves a different pattern on each plate. When the warm light falls on these dark surfaces, a soft ambient glow settles over the table.
For the form, not for load
The black pipe cap at the centre of each plate completes the form; the plates are there to set the balance for the eye, not to carry anything. The foot is folded from black pipe as well, a balanced, decorative lamp for a desk or a shelf.

No. Engraving your name or text is included in the price, at no extra cost.
When is my order shipped?
We ship all orders within 3 business days. Delivery time then depends on your courier and region.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes. If you like, we wrap it gift-ready in kraft paper and twine.
Can I return it?
You can return within 15 days of delivery. However, items engraved with a name or text are made specifically for you and are not eligible for return.
Is the bulb included?
Yes. On lit products the bulb is included; we ship the piece as you see it in the photos.
Are the glasses and bottles in the photos included?
No. The glassware, bottles, drinks and similar objects in the photos are for display only and are not included.
Can I put something on the plates?
There is a pipe cap at the centre of each plate, so the surface is not flat; the plates are not used as shelves.
Does it balance like a real scale?
No. The arms are fixed with pipe fittings; the scale here is form only.
Which way does the bulb face?
It hangs straight down in the middle; the light falls between the two plates and onto the surface below.
